Introduction


Everest Base Camp Cho La Pass Trek.
Cho la pass trek is combine of the Gokyo lake and Everest base camp trek, the trek has rated as strenuous because of the challenging icy slop Cho la Pass and the high altitude. This trek is count an adventurous and challenging trek in Khumbu region. The trek can be done in clock-wise and anti clock-wise. As your safety concern we design Chola pass itinerary in clock-wise, you need to do long steep walk to summit but there is safety. No need to worry about the slippery and fall down. It offers maximum natural diversity of Khumbu region such as high Himalayas including the world summit Mt. Everest, Lotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam and numerous other well-known peaks. The trekking trail ascending up reverse of Dudh Koshi river through habitants of the highlander people known as Sherpa, as walk through the village, we get opportunity to learn about life style of Sherpa people and as they practising Buddhism, we will passing through monastery, stupa, chorten and beautiful Tibetan words engraved on big rock which mean praying to gods and colourful Tibetan praying flag bowing in air. Sagarmatha national park is very rich in flora and fauna as well, we often encounter Himalayan Thar, Musj Deer, Blue Sheep, Barking Deer, Himalayan Pheasant, Impayan and multi colour – National birds of Nepal. As we trek higher, the valley became wider and welcomed by huge mountains, we will be visited 2 view point, these are Kala Pather & Gokyo Ri, both view point offer superb views of Himalayas and glaciers. Everest Base is the highlight of the trek, enormous view of Nagzumba and Khumbu glacier makes your trek more enjoyable. Once we reach at base camp then descending to Lukla.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Phakding 2,610M- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche 3,440M- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 05: Acclimatisation Day. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 06: Namche to Dole 4,200M- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 07: Dole to Machhermo 4,470M- 4hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo 4,790M- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 13: Gorak Shep to Kala patthar 5,550M – Periche 4,240M- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 14: Periche to Namche 3,440M- 5hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 15: Namche to Lukla 2,860M- 6hrs Trek. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 16: Lukla to Kathmandu 35minute flight. Overnight Hotel.
Day 17: Rest in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18: Departure.
Note: The above itinerary is a guideline and standard pattern which we provide you. Trek itinerary can be modified according to your interest, time and requirements. The trip cost will be according to Deluxe, Standard, Budget and group size so please kindly provide us your details for a customized program. 
For your information Lukla flights are notorious for being delayed to and fro Kathmandu by few hours or even cancelled for a day.  Due to uncertain climate change that occurs often at Lukla, you are advised to have extra days for your stay in Nepal.

Detail Itinerary

Detail Itinerary of 19Days Cho La Pass Trek.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu 1,350M/4,428FT.
On your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport. Our official representative will be received you Then transfer to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Cultural and Historical Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.
At 9am your guided tour takes you into the city of the mysterious Katmandu, places listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites -
Pasupatinath Temple: The world most sacred holy Hindu shrine and cremate of dead body.
Swayambhunath Temple: The blend of Hinduism and Buddhism and viewpoint of valley.
Durbar Square: The home of architectures and living Goddess. 
Bouddha Stupa: The world largest Buddhist shrine.
Overnight at hotel. 

Day 03: Kathmandu to Phakding 2,610M/8,560FT- 4hrs Trek.
We have 30 minute scenery flight to Lukla. Upon our arrival at Lukla we meet our crew who will carry your luggage's entire your trek. As we start trek the trail lead throughout middle of the village, dense rhododendron forest, grain farm and colorful Tibetan praying flags, stone sculpture of Tibetan phrase, The trail following the Dudhkoshi khola to Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche 3,440M/11,283FT- 6hrs Trek.
We walk through along the river passing a villages and crossing a suspension bridges. The trail lead us in the forest of pine, giant fir, and rhododendron to reach Manju where we enter the SAGARMATHA NATIOANAL park. Here we need to register our officially permits. Then we continue to trek passing Jorsalle and cross suspension bridge than ascending switchback up through the pine forest and fir that leads to Tham Dada where we get the first glimpse of Mt. Everest. We continue through the dense forest to reach the popular Sherpa village Namche – historical trading market between Nepalese and Tibetan, exchanging salt, textiles, herds, dried meat, provisions, cloths handicraft. Now days there is trading every weekend selling fresh food stuffs brought up from lower area. This is a buzzing town with internet, fresh bakery, trekking gears, ATM and money exchange available.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day.
Today, day for acclimatization. You may walk around the Namche village and visit the Sherpa museum. Else go to the middle climbing up above the Namche village , see the spectacular views of Namche village with background of Kongde and Himal. The hike continue to airstrip of Syangboche. Still ascending up on the scrub and yak meadow to Everest view Hotel– a luxurious Hotel with superb views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest and other surrounding peaks and the whole Khumbu valley. Then trek down to the twins Sherpa village Khumjung and Khunde just underneath of the sacred rocky peak Khumbila. Visit the Monastery at Khumjung where Yeti skull is kept and explore the Edmund Hillary school then trek to Khunde - visit the hospital and monastery. Trek continues descent back to Namche pass through the Yak farm.

Day 06: Namche to Dole 4,200M/13,755FT- 4hrs Trek.
Trek set off through the village then take easy way with views of mountains and encounter the wild flora and fauna, Danfe – the national bird of Nepal, Himalaya's Tahr, Deer, Imepeyan to Kyanjunhgma. Turning left, we ascend to Mong La with views of Tengboche monastery and Mt. Ama Dablam. We descending through the pine and giant fir forest we arrive at Phorte and climbing up takes you to Dole.

Day 07: Dole to Machhermo 4,470M/14,660FT- 4hrs Trek. 
Head off from Dole the trail continue gradually up infertile landscape and Yak grazed land passing through the tea shop and guesthouse where we get a spectacular views of Mt. Cho Oyu 8200m/26895ft and numerous of other now-capped mountains surrounding us. The trail bring you to Machhermo. The town is not so big just have 6 seasonal lodge and one Hospital for traveler's. where you can get free information about acute mountain sickness. Get fine views of surrounding mountain in the evening and beautiful sunrise in the morning.

Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo 4,790M/15,710FT- 5hrs Trek. 
The trek continue through the village and short climb up to the ridge, Then the trail goes on level for couple hours and climbing up stone-stair along the river to terminate of Nagzumba glacier moraine. Here we climb up, cross the bridge then we see the first lake, walking thru rough trail, we pass the second lake then finally reach third lake called Gokyo lake, largest and beautiful lake among other lakes. The settlement is next to lake after lunch we walk around the Gokyo.

Day 09: Summit of Gokyo Peak 5,360M/17,580FT to Thangnak 4,700M/15,415FT- 6hrs Trek.
Today is our exciting day of the trek. We start our trek in early morning, passing the streams then climb steep up 2/3 hrs to reach the summit of Gokyo Peak. This is a strenuous climb. While climbing up on ridge the trail provides superb views of Himalayas and largest Nagzumba glacier. From the Gokyo Ri we see an incredible sunrise view over the Majestic Khumbu Himalaya's including 4 of the mountain is above the 8000m, such as giant Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse and numerous other peaks with enormous Gokyo valley. We take photographs than we retrace to Gokyo. Have breakfast and rest. Heading off from the Gokyo and ascending up for while then descend and walk onto the moraine of Nagzumpa glacier – the longest glacier in the world. The trail continue few hours onto the glacier. This walk will be a lifetime experience - walking along you can feel inner part of the glacier melting. By the time you finish your walk on the glacier, you arrive at Thangnak

Day 10: Thangnak – Dzongla 4,830M/15,845FT- 8hrs Trek. 
Cho La pass(5,420M/17,777FT) is another high spot and one of the challenging pass, thus its the toughest day of your whole trek. We start very early morning. The trail is ascending up through the meadows to the first ridge, continuing up through rocky path then steep up and ice slope to the top. It is difficult to walk in vertical and rocks glazed we need to walk in a very slow pace upwards. As we climb higher, the scenery gets increasingly gorgeous. The ridge of the pass is decorated by sacred Buddhist flags. From the top we can view many well-known mountains. Take a rest and take many photographs. Then as we walk on the ice path to the view point we will be seen a picture square of mountains- the Ama Dablam, Lobuche, Baruntse, Lhotse, Kangtega. Crossing on the crevasses and rocky trail we reach at Dzongla.

Day 11: Dzongla to Lobuche 4,910M/16,105FT- 3hrs Trek. 
Today we have a short walk. The trek goes on transverse through grassy trail, with views of massive Cholatse, Arakam Tse, Lobuche east Ama Dablam and Pumari and Periche valley far down. We reach Lobuche to catch the Everest Base Camp trail where we meet many trekkers also on their way to the EBC.

Day 12: Lobuche to Gorak shep 5,180M/16,990FT- 7hrs Trek. 
Today is an must exciting day of your trek because you are going to step-in at world's well-known Everest Base Camp. Heading off from Lobuche, We walk onwards through the lateral moraine of the world famous Khumbu Glacier. As we continue trek you will see the border Himalaya's and summit of north crest of Mt. Everest along with Pumari, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse etc while enjoying awesome views ahead on reaching Gorak Shep. Then check in the room and have lunch. we continue the trail to Everest Base Camp passing the frozen lake and walking on the moraine of Khumbu Glacier for couple of hours then reaching the ICE SERACE to the area known as EVEREST BASE CAMP. During spring we will see some expeditor team as they do acclimatization while waiting for a right date to make it to the summit. From Base Camp we will get superb view of a massive of Khumbu Ice fall. We then retrace to Gorak shep.

Day 13: Gorak Shep to Kala patthar 5,550M/18,205FT to Periche 4,240M/13,907FT- 6hrs Trek.
Today we are walking up, through to ridge known as Kala patthar and it takes 2/3hrs. The path is tough and it goes steep-up and last part of the trail is completely rocky then reach at Kala pathar. From here we will see in 360º amazing mountain views including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tabuche peak, Arakam Tse, Cholatse, Lho La, Khumbutse, Lingtren, Mahalangur Himal, Chumbu and massive views of Khumbu Glacier. After spending a short time on the top we retrace to Gorak Shep. We walk through the moraine of Khumbu glacier passing Lobuche then reach Dughala Pass where we will see some monuments – expeditors who died at Mt. Everest expedition. We walk down enjoying views of Pariche 4240m/13907ft valley far down and mountain.

Day 14: Periche to Namche 3,440M/11,283FT- 5hrs Trek.
The trail going through grassy pasture following the Dudhkoshi river, passing Pangboche village. Here we often encounter the Himalayan Tahr and crossing the river, Then the trail lead in the rhododendron forest passing Deubuche then climbing up to Tangboche Monastery – 500 yrs old Buddhist Monastery with a wonderful view of Ama Dablam. Descending in the rhododendron, pine and fir forest. After crossing the river we climb up passing villages to Kengjuma. From here its an easy grassy meadow walk to Namche.

Day 15: Namche to Lukla 2,860M/9,380FT- 6hrs Trek.
Today the trek descends through villages and the rhododendron forest. Here we get the last glimpse of Mt. Everest from Tham Danda. We then continue walking through Sherpa village Jorsalle, Manju Phakding. After lunch we continue the hike beside the Dudhkosi river to reach Chhuplung. Then trail goes gently up through the jungle to Lukla.

Day 16: Lukla to Kathmanadu 35 minutes by flight.
A 30minute scenic flight from Tengzing Hillary Airport to Kathmandu. Then transfer to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 17: Rest Day in Kathmandu. 
After achieved your goal to trek Everest Base camp.You deserve rest in Kathmandu.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 18: Departure.
According your flight schedule, you will be transffered to the international airport.
